KIDS COOKING CLASS AT TERRALINA CRAFTED ITALIAN IN DISNEY SPRINGS

Looking for something fun and outside-the-box to do in Orlando? You’ll definitely want to make your next stop Terralina Crafted Italian in Disney Springs.

The cozy sit-down restaurant located in The Landing section of Disney Springs offers more than just a view of Lake Buena Vista and deeply satisfying Italian food. Terralina now offers both kids cooking classes and kids birthday party packages that families will love!

This past weekend, my 2 oldest and I got to experience a kids’ birthday party cooking class at Terralina where the kids got the chance to make their own pizza and learn a little bit about Italian food and culture. They can’t stop talking about how much fun they had, and I loved watching them try something new and fun.

Although we’ve been to Disney Springs many times, Terralina is a new-to-us restaurant. I loved the family-friendly ambiance, and can’t wait to go back! Here’s everything you need to know about visiting Terralina with your kids, and how you can get involved in one of their kids cooking classes.

Disclaimer: My 2 kids and I were hosted by Terralina Crafted Italian in order to review and share the Kids Party Package and Kids Cooking Class options. All opinions are my own.

TERRALINA KIDS BIRTHDAY PARTIES

For Orlando locals or Florida residents who don’t mind making a short day trip, Terralina Kids Party Packages may be the perfect option for a unique party experience your kids won’t soon forget.

The parties are priced at $25 per person, plus taxes and fees, but with everything that’s included in the event, it’s completely worth the money.

Upon arrival, kids are greeted by friendly staff members who will show them to their seats where all the ingredients and utensils they’ll need to create their culinary masterpieces are in place already. They’ll get a personalized chef’s hat to take home to really get them in the spirit of the event.

Group events are all held in a spacious area in the back of the restaurant where floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with light. Even with rows of tables and chairs set up for the event, there is plenty of space for kids to move around, or for parents to circle the tables for pictures and videos.

Once all the guests have arrived, kids will get a chance to use fresh ingredients like mozzarella, tomato sauce, and pepperoni to make their own pizza. There is also the option to do a ravioli cooking class if you’re not a fan of pizza.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

  • cooking class and demonstration of pizza or ravioli

  • lunch (they get to eat their creations)

  • kids beverage

  • chef hat

  • You’ll need a minimum of 10 guests and a maximum of 20

You can also add on some enhancements for an extra cost to make the party more personalized or exciting:

  • gelato sundae (I can personally vouch for how mouth-watering these are)

  • birthday cake

  • kids apron

  • Terralina Crafted Italian cup

  • themed decorations

  • balloon artist (he’s amazing - he made a Lightning McQueen Balloon for my son and a Jasmine & Rajah balloon combo for my daughter)

  • face painter

If you’re interested in hosting your child’s next birthday party at Terralina, you can find the details and contact information on their website.

OUR EXPERIENCE

IMG_8963.JPG

I brought my 6-year-old daughter, Pippa, and my 4-year-old son, Teddy, to the birthday party cooking class at Terralina. The kids were really looking forward to it, but I did wonder how Teddy would do since he’s typically more reserved and nervous about new experiences.

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the kind folks hosting the event were so warm and welcoming without being overbearing that we all felt completely at ease, including Teddy.

The kids loved having the freedom to make their pizzas exactly how they wanted them, and as a mom, I loved how none of the steps were too complicated that they NEEDED my help. I think this would be important if you’re hosting a party with a group of little kids.

Pippa and Teddy were both thrilled that they got to order whatever drink they wanted since I normally only let them have water or milk. It’s the little things that make kids happy, isn’t it?

The pizzas turned out wonderfully, and it was nice to have a few leftover slices to take home.

The highlight of the event was definitely the balloon artist. There was a few minutes of downtime while the pizzas were cooking, and having that extra bit of entertainment helped keep the kids occupied and not too focused on their hunger. Plus they were in awe of his ability to turn balloons into their favorite Disney characters AND his magic tricks!

KIDS COOKING CLASS AT TERRALINA IN DISNEY SPRINGS

Maybe you don’t have a birthday coming up in your family but you would still love to experience the magic of Italian cooking for yourself (ahem…for your kids).

Terralina occasionally offers a Kids Cooking Class open to the public that you can buy tickets for. It’s the same concept - kids will be creating their own pizza from fresh ingredients while learning about Italian food and culture.

The event costs $30/person, and you can find more details on the website.

As of the writing of this blog post, the next class happens on Saturday, March 14 from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., and is best suited for kids ages 5-12.

WE LOVED OUR EXPERIENCE AT TERRALINA!

Next time we’re in Disney Springs we will definitely be making another stop at this fantastic restaurant. My standards for which restaurants we choose as a family have changed as our family grows. What I look for now is delicious, unfussy food that both grown-up palates and still-developing children’s palates can enjoy, a welcoming atmosphere to families with young children, and happy & friendly service.

I can say without a doubt that Terralina met all my criteria, so I wouldn’t hesitate to go back with the whole family for a meal!

There are so many other things you can do for a day out at Disney Springs to round out your day, like window shopping at any one of the Disney merchandise stores, playing with LEGOs at the LEGO store, watching (or riding!) the Amphicar at the Boathouse, and riding the Marketplace Carousel.

Let me know if you’ve had the chance to experience dining or a cooking class at Terralina and tell me what you thought of it!

DON’T FORGET IT! PIN IT!
