friday favorites #5
Happy first Friday in February! How did that happen? This year is already flying by, which I'm not mad about, as each week brings us closer to meeting our little boy!
This week I might as well change the title to "friday favorites: beverage edition", because for some reason almost everything I'm loving this week has to do with drinks and their vessels. I guess I'm not really surprised, though. Justin and I both caught whatever illness the kids had over the weekend, so we've been spending the week hydrating and resting. Not too much excitement over in our neck of the woods! The beauty of being sick, though, is how much you appreciate things like breathing though your nose when you feel well again. It's the little things, am I right?
Alright everyone. One more day to power through until the weekend! So grab your coffee, and let's share what's making us smile this week!
Friday Favorites
1. Bubba tumblers with a straw
I have been hunting for just the right kids' cups for smoothies and shakes for quite some time now. I stumbled upon the Bubba tumbler with a straw while shopping at Target, and decided to give them a try. They were only $6.99, cute, dishwasher safe, and have a wide straw (which is essential for shakes and smoothies). I bought a pink one for Pippa and a blue one for Teddy, and so far they have held up well! The kids ask for their batidos (that's shakes in Spanish) every morning, and it's so cute watching them sip out of their matching tumblers. Mama win!
2. Yeti Tumbler
Now let's talk adult tumblers. My husband received 2 Yeti tumblers as Christmas gifts from his students, and let me tell you - best. gift. EVER. Naturally I've already stolen one and claimed it as my own, because one can never have too many water bottles and cups stashed around the house, in the car, and at work. Justin and I can't stop gushing over how cold they keep our water, and how the lid lets out just the perfect amount of water for sipping. Wow. Is this what happens when you get old? You have thrilling conversations about water vessels with your spouse? We have the 30 oz variety, which I love, because this pregnancy is requiring me to guzzle H20 like it's my job in order to avoid migraines and leg cramps.
3. Teddy's Basketball Book
Let's take a break from beverages for a moment, shall we? Back in December I was searching for something small to add to Teddy's gift stash, and found this little book on Amazon. He's obsessed with basketball and football, so I figured the book would be a hit with him. Boy was I right! We have to read this book every night before bed. It has 10 cute rhyming riddles about different basketball equipment. Teddy answers every riddle with, "Bah-m-ball!" The book is cute, and not too long, which is essential for bedtime stories.
4. Wood sign
For my birthday last month, one of my students gave me this lovely wood sign. Her mom is a friend of mine who just opened up her Etsy shop! She does incredible work, and I can't wait to get my hands on some more of her signs. Love and passion go into each project, and it shows! Check out the about section in her Etsy shop for why she creates these works of art.
5. Juicy Orange Hydrate
Sorry...you knew we were coming back to the beverages! One of the major bummers about being sick while you're pregnant is that there is not a lot of medicine you are allowed to take. I try to avoid medicine if I can, anyway, so I've been turning to other solutions. Hydrate is a favorite beverage for me, because it is enriched with Vitamins B+C and replaces electrolytes without all the nasty ingredients and dyes that other sports drinks contain. We mamas still have to function when we're sick, and this drink has been giving me a little boost every morning. And it's delicious!
That's all for this week! Share what you're loving this week! I'd love to hear it :)
